    Game Features:
    • The Wii Wheel transforms the Wii Remote™ controller into a steering wheel that feels natural in anyone's hands, while the Wii Remote and Nunchuk™ controller offer a classic control style for the Mario Kart veteran. In either configuration, players can perform speed-boosting tricks with a shake of the Wii Remote.
    • Players can race as their favorite Nintendo character, or even as themselves! Mario Kart Wii lets players race with their personalized Mii™ characters. And racers will see other Mii characters they have created cheering from the sidelines on some race courses.
    • Players can compete with up to three friends in their living room. Or challenge up to 11 opponents via Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection in the biggest Mario Kart race yet. All tracks and modes of play are available via Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection, and players can visit the Mario Kart Channel to compete in tournaments, check rankings, see when their friends are playing and download ghost data.
    • Cruise new tracks and arenas or tour classic courses from Super Mario Kart™, Mario Kart® 64, Mario Kart®: Super Circuit™, Mario Kart®: Double Dash!!™ and Mario Kart® DS. Tired of riding on four wheels? Bust out one of the new motorbikes for special tricks and techniques.

    Characters
Nintendo favorites Mario™, Luigi™, Peach™, Yoshi®, Donkey Kong®, Wario™, Bowser™ and Toad™, plus a host of new faces-including your own! Get into the game and put your Mii™ character behind the wheel.

    Special Powers/Weapons/Moves/Features
Whether racing around an obstacle-filled track or battling in an arena, drifting and tossing items are the keys to Mario Kart success. Players can shake the Wii Remote while launching off a ramp to pull off a trick that will temporarily boost their speed. When riding a bike, players can gain additional speed by flicking the Wii Remote up and popping a wheelie

    Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection:
Keeping in the tradition of Mario Kart, Nintendo has pushed multiplayer racingeven further utilizing the Wii's built in Wi-Fi Connection. There are two options for races and battles over Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection: up to 12 people via Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection or up to 10 people via Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection with two people playing locally.

     Favorite game - Sep 01, 2010

This game is the best. I play online all the time with friends and others Kart players all the time. I think the best games are against human players and not the computer.

     I guess I'm just too good - Aug 18, 2010

Ok, so my summer vacation was going pretty fine, I had just unlocked the Supercar in Burnout 2: Point of Impact(Man, that thing is fast!) and I really wanted Mario Kart Wii. So my birthday comes around. I usually get 1 "big" present like a guitar or a camera, and about 2 "small" presents like bionicles from my parents. My small one, a duffle bag. My big one, this game. I plugged it into my Wii, and did the first grand prix. I come in 1st place, no sweat. Ok, maybe the rest of the game is hard. This goes on after (SPOILER ALERT) I unlock Diddy Kong, the Super Blooper, Dry Bowser and a lot of other stuff until I make my way to the Mirror Class in less than 3 weeks. (End of Spoiler) The game is way too easy if you are used to the "pro" racing games like Burnout, Need for Speed, DIRT, Gran Turismo, ect. It is fun if you play Wi-Fi (as long as people don't cheat) or with friends who are also really good, but really good non-cheaters are hard to come by. And why I don't race my family; 1: My 6-year-old brother always complains about using the wheel and who he races, and 2: No one (except me) in my family has gotten more than 16 trophies. And I can't sell it because it would kill my little brother. I admit it is fun, until you win a lot. So after this, I learned that nintendo can only make good fighting games like Super Smash Bros. Brawl or good RPG games like Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Sky (if you could call that RPG). Oh well, guess I'll see if Mario Kart 3ds is better.

     OK game - Aug 16, 2010

Mario Kart Wii is pretty much the definition of love-hate. I mean, the courses are probably the best of any Mario Kart game- I'm serious! The part of the game that drags it down is the fact that the races are almost entirely luck-based.

    Gameplay:
Mario Kart Wii, as with all other Mario Kart games I've played, is, well, simply a blast. After the creation of the Wii and the Wi-Fi connection, playing multiplayer is easier than ever (but I'll get into that later). The controls are easy to use. Let me repeat that- THE CONTROLS ARE EASY TO USE (yes, I'm looking at you Sonic Riders Zero Gravity!) The items are creative, and they're kind of a blend of all of the items from previous Mario Kart games. However, there are two new items- Lightning Cloud (not Lightning Bolt) and Mega Mushroom. Both of these are great additions to the game. Now, the gameplay isn't always peaches and cream (or should I say Peach and Daisy). The fact that the game is about 60-70% luck is UNBELIEVABLY FRUSTRATING and, without it, this game might have gotten 5 stars. You're in first by a lot, then all of a sudden... a Blue Shell hits you and you go KA-BOOM! You're still in first though, but not by much. Then, a red shell hits and all of a sudden you come in fifth place. That's the kind of thing you'll expect to see a lot.

    Graphics and Sound:
The music is pretty nice, and is different for each course (Wario's Gold Mine is Western-style, Toad's factory is wild and silly, etc.) The sound effects are also neat- it's hilarious to see Donkey Kong get slammed by a Shell and start making ape-ish noises and frantically waving his hands around. The graphics are also pretty good, though the game gets kind of clunky in multiplayer.

    Multiplayer:
It's fun to blast each other with items while frantically trying to scramble to the finish, but it's NOT fun when the worst player in the group wins because he got Star while the guy behind him used Lightning Bolt. To make it more fair, you can turn the items off (sadly, you can't do this for the Grand Prix). If you do, people might start complaining, so unfortunately, you'll probably spend a lot more time with items than without them. The multiplayer should have been changed so that the races aren't purely luck.

    Courses:
The courses themselves are beautiful and ingenious; even the old courses are reworked! Different courses have different mechanics (e.g. Bowser's Castle Wii has a giant Bowser that launches fireballs, Mushroom Gorge has mushrooms that bounce you in the air, etc.) There is an amazing variety in the styles of the courses... even the three Bowser's Castle courses are distinctly different from each other.

    Battle Mode:
Though not nearly as fun as DS battle, the Wii battle mode is still pretty fun. In battle, there are two different versions- Balloon Battle (players zoom around, hitting each other with items to win points) and Coin Runners (collect coins and steal them from your opponents). Coin Runners is the better of the two, though they're both a nice break from the regular races.

    Wi-Fi Missions:
The Wi-Fi missions are really cool. Every once in a while, Nintendo will put up a mission for players around the world to play and compete against each other. The missions vary diversely, but the one that is going on as of this writing is a go-through-the-gates run on Koopa Cape. Pretty nice, overall.

    Time Trials:
Now this is probably the best part of the game. There aren't any CPU players to bug you... simply race for the best time! The really cool thing is that each Wii course is so clever, that you'll have a blast playing in this mode! In fact, Time Trials was probably the only mode where I actually ENJOYED trying to unlock everything.

Overall, Mario Kart Wii is a fairly good game, especially for the younger ones. It is one of those "must-haves" for the Wii and a pretty good buy!

Note: If you have Super Mario Galaxy, Roselina is MUCH easier to get.

Thanks for the wonderful game - Aug 01, 2010

I bought this game for my 8 year old kid - he enjoys it for a second month already. I also played along wth him and like it very much.

     Great racing fun - Jul 22, 2010

Just wanted to add my 5 stars. Of course it's just a video game, but it is so much fun, there is so much learning involved and I have derived countless hours of fun solo and with friends and family playing this game, not to mention playing people around the world online. Well worth 50 bucks.

     Sad Grandmother - Jul 22, 2010

I really don't know much about the game, other then what my Grandson who is now 9. He told me his friend had it & it was so much fun.
However, I bought this for him for his 9TH birthday, only to find out that his little brother who is 2 broke the Wii. I have know idea how much it will cost to fix it. I just know my Son-in-Law does not have the money to do so. My daughter walked out on them, & has left him/ them in a bad financial situation. I feel so bad. He really wanted the game & now who knows. I think my husband bought the Wii's on here for all our grandchildren. That was 2 years ago :(.
I Pray we can get it fixed. I got rid of all the paper work on the game, so I can't return it.
    SAD Nanny

     Great family fun! - Jul 22, 2010

My son (7 1/2) played this game with a friend, who had brought it over. It was such fun we decided to get it - so glad we did! Hours of fun racing around crazy tracks, getting items to help you or mess with your opponents. Actually, it's a bit addicting! So - be sure your child takes some breaks to read or do other "brain" activities, or they'll spend all day racing!

     Amazing Game - Jul 22, 2010

I am really happy with this game. It is great if you are playing alone or with friends. I enjoyed this game greatly.

     entertaining - Jul 19, 2010

i was so excited at first because i everyone i asked they said that it was really fun and enjoyable and you forget that its been hours of playing. that is the reason i ordered mine and infact i think it's fun and its for all ages. the only thing that i dont like is that, it gaves me headache of turning and tussling, the graphics it was amazingly good, playing with the big 55' tv is awesome.since i had it i only played 3 times. just figured out yourself if i liked it thah much.

Great for all levels - Jul 16, 2010

Nice for both individual and 2 players. Lots of variety and can be enjoyed by players of all skill levels.

My daughter loves it - Jul 15, 2010

I bought it for my 11 year old daughter. She plays it all the time. If shes happy, I'm happy.

Best game on the wii - Jul 12, 2010

This game is what the wii is made for. Lots of tracks new and old and lots of challenges (online and offline) to keep you occupied. With the wheel it makes really fun but if your an old fashioned gamer you can still use a "normal" controller. You can never get board with this with all the different challenges (normal races, time trials etc), and with lots and lots of things to unlock from the easy to the difficult it keeps occupied for hours and thats before you get to the online gaming.
Like the offline game you roughly the same challenges but I think racing against online racers makes this game its more fun and you have racers of all abilitys on there.
So if you got the wii this is a must have and you wont be disappointed.

Good but not as exciting as I expected - Jul 12, 2010

Thought it'd be really New! and Different! from the other Mario Karts, but it's basically the same. Just better graphics and a couple more characters, all of whom sound really strange (including Bowser and Donkey Kong). It's still good, though, great to play as a novice or an expert.

Fun for all ages - Jul 07, 2010

Even though it requires some skill, it's quite fun for all ages. The scoring could be better, keeping better track of the racers (allows for only 4 permanent entries) but overall is a good and fun game

     A Blast - Jul 07, 2010

You will have a blast. It seems so cheesey until you play......then you are hooked. I come in last every time but who cares it is a blast!

     Lots of fun! - Jul 07, 2010

This was as much as I thought it would be!! I'm not too picky when it comes to Wii games cause they're all a lot of fun! However, I do wish this game had more 1:1 features instead of team:team or races. I think it would be even more fun..... Other than that, everything I expected and a very good purchase! The wheel's fun to use, but not necessary..I like the fact that I don't need 4 wheels in order to play 4 player!! (Just another smart thinker from Nintendo!)

     Fun - Jul 01, 2010

This game is fun and challenging but it gets repetitive. I like that you can race online with other people.

BEST RACING GAME BY MARIO - Jun 27, 2010

This is a really great game to play with your family and is easy to control with the WII remote and if you want you can use the gamecube controller to. It is challenging in certain races but fun.

     Racing Nintendo style - Jun 27, 2010

This is a great game. Fun and easy for anyone to pick up and have a fun. A what a great fun with the different powerups and excellent racing tracks. This is a must buy for all Wii players. The graphics are nice and the character selection is great. The online player modes are great when you want to race a real person via internet.

Good but with Fist Smash Frustrations - Jun 25, 2010

I find this game fun but incredibly frustrating. You can be winning a game and an invincible blue shell will blow you up resulting in you finishing dead last. While playing against the cpu you will start to become keenly aware that there is an almost unfair distribution of question mark boxes. Your opponents will get the missile more often than you. Unlocking some of the bikes takes hundreds of playing hours. Racing the ghosts will make you smash things with rage due to the hax styles that some other players used to get through snow drifts and other obstacles. Things that slow you down somehow don't slow them down.

More than anything is the overall mood this game produces. It's rewards you for pulling the rug out from your opponent. The online part is like going to a gambling casino meaning that you break even at best.

Great Fun for All... unless your racing Yoshi ; ) - Jun 22, 2010

My boyfriend and I really enjoy this game. I am far from a 'gamer' but really enjoy playing with him. It's cute but challenging and we laugh a lot. It takes some coordination but if you are in good spirits, you will have a blast. Definitely good fun!! I recommend the wheel if you purchase it used.

Brought better meaning to "Family Night" - Jun 13, 2010

This game is sooooooo cooool. I originally had the ds version and loved that. Since then Nintendo has come out with a Wii version. When Dad bought the Wii, he also brought Wii Sports Resort and the Mario Kart Wii. Every night we will play at least four sets. Add this to your Mario collection.

Game for Daily Use - Jun 13, 2010

My boyfriend and I (both 25) play this game on a daily basis. This is a fun game to play individually to unlock levels, characters and vehicles. It's also fun on multiplayer or online. We love the competition. There is enough to keep us busy and continuing to improve, but it's also easy enough for my mom and grandmother to play as well. I am very impressed by this game!

Great unless you want to play online - Jun 11, 2010

This game is Fun!!! It is fun to play by yourself, it is fun to play against family and friends, and it used to be fun to play online against others. But, the online game is now overrun by so called 'hackers' (there may actually be 2 people who actually know how to create a cheat code, but thousands of brats who use them and think they are elite because they know how to read a message board) who now use cheat codes to torment normal players. You can't play more than 3 races or battles online before someone starts cheating and ruining the fun and challenge of the online game.

You would think Nintendo would do something, and maybe they half-heartedly tried, to stop the rampant cheating, but obviously they just don't care about this game now. This is evidenced by the fact that they won't publish any online responses in regards to cheating and if you call or email them, they say cheating is a part of life and we should just turn off the game if we encounter cheaters.... I would beware any Nintendo "Wi-Fi" game because of this attitude, maybe they will release this game on the X-Box.

Just a really fun family game - Jun 07, 2010

Everyone else pretty much said everything so I will just say that this game is just really fun for the whole family. Not bad for forty bucks plus ten bucks credit for a future game which I already used for Star Wars Lego for Wii. Overall a great value.
