     Stable Dashboard Mount - Aug 28, 2010

I was slightly skeptical about the TomTom GPS Dashboard Mount, since other reviewers reported that it slides off the dash. That may be why it now comes with an adhesive tab that sticks to the dash; a hook grips a loop on the mount. I did not use this feature since I want to be able to move the GPS between cars.
We used the TomTom Dashboard Mount (w/o the adehesive) on a Philadelphia to Chicago trip. Positioned on the dash of our Traverse it did not budge at all during the trip. Worked fine.

Not worth the price - Aug 25, 2010

Do not waste your money on this product. The Tom Tom does not adhere to the mount and keeps falling off.

     It works - Aug 25, 2010

Got this with a new TomTom GPS. I was dubious at first but after using it several times on long trips...it works! Sits right on the dash so it insn't blocking your windshield view. It does have a real "funky" saftey hook that has to be permanently afixed to the dashboard, which I don't care much for. Other than that, can't complain.

     Fine Product - Aug 24, 2010

Holds GPS on dashboard of Toyota Camry in 90+-degree heat. Just what I wanted & expected. No more falls off of windshield in heat.

     Solid Performer - Aug 18, 2010

My Tom Tom attaches easily to the dashboard mount and no matter where I place it on the dash it sits solidly with no sliding. This makes the GPS easy to transfer from car to car and does not leave the tell-tale window ring to alert possible thieves that there is a GPS in the vehicle.

Too Stiff and bulky - Aug 17, 2010

I purchased the TomTom GPS Dash mount to go with a TomTom XXL 540. I drive a mini van and the windshield is just too far away to reach, so I needed a dash mount. The TomTom GPS Dash mount is just too stiff to conform to the contours of the dashboard in my van. The sides of the dash mount are also too high and interfere with the bottom of the GPS unit so you cannot use it in a sideways or narrow configuration. I ended up purchasing a HandStands GPS Sticky Pad Dash Mount, it is very thin and flexible so it can conform the curvature of the dashboard and does not interfere with the bottom of the GPS unit.

     vern's review - Aug 16, 2010

I drive a full size van for work and this product sits right on top of the console, making the gps very easy to reach. Without this, the gps would have to be placed on the dashboard or on the floor; in both places it might be hard to see and would definately be hard to make any programming changes. With this mount, the gps is only inches from me. My personal vehicle is a small car; it doesn't work well in there. The dashboard and windshield both are so small that the gps would greatly obstruct my vision, and there is no room on the console to place the dashboard mount. For larger vehicles, this product is great!

Don't buy this piece of junk - Aug 10, 2010

Believe every bad review you read about this junk. The gps does not stay stuck to the mount. I removed all the adhesive covers and everything else I read that could "fix" this. The bottom is not no-skid, it slides all over my dashboard. Save your money and pass on this.

     tom-tom mount - Aug 09, 2010

    the GPS works good
the windshield mount fell off a few times.
It does not fall off any more, works fine now.
I forgot it in a rental that is why I am here looking at a new one.

     Tom Tom Mount - Aug 04, 2010

This is nice for long trips and out of town trips but I don't use it much on short trips around town.

     TomTom Mount - Aug 02, 2010

Great! GPS fits perfectly and stays in place. Better than stuck on the windshield. Easy removal.

Nice GPS, not nice Mount - Aug 01, 2010

This unit is a good GPS with as much detail that you want to display.
What I don't like is the windshied mount. It is very awkward to place on the windshield and difficult to move to a good veiwing angle without the mount unsnappping fron the unit

Great dashboard mount, no issues here! - Jul 29, 2010

This is the best dashboard mount I have tried for my GPS. It's heavy, with a non-skid bottom, so I don't have any issues with cornering, sliding, or the GPS tipping. Unlike a lot of these reviews, I have had NO trouble with the mount sticking -- if anything, it's difficult to remove! I agree with a reviewer below, maybe these folks didn't remove the plastic film that protects the surface before trying to stick the mount. As for size, I have the 5" touchscreen, and it fits with no trouble at all. Very pleased with my purchase, and I plan on getting another to replace an older, less well-made dash mount for another unit.

     just one problem - Jul 29, 2010

The ability to set this on the dashbord and position it is great. However, to secure the actual GPS to the mount you need to use the suction cup which does not stay attached in the heat of the summer. I even tried to secure it with crazy glue and it still fell off. The mount needs an arm that is securely attached to the base to hold the GPS in place, in my opinion. A friend of mine has a Garmin mount that does this and it is very secure.

     GPS Dashboard Mount - Jul 29, 2010

Makes it easy to use your GPS unit in multiple vehicles. Happy with this product.

Tom Tom GPS Mount - Jul 26, 2010

Great durable product. For the price of a generic, at Amazon you can get the real thing at a fraction of the retail cost. The product is durable and well made. Low Light Performance is marginal though----Still 5 stars!

     I'm stuck on it! - Jul 17, 2010

I simply set the GPS on the pad and it stuck to it right away...took quite a bit to pry it off. So, whatever problem there was isn't now. My TomTom XL335 sticks to this thing like glue!! And it's plenty big enough.

Mine came with little hook that you can attach to your dash if you experience any slippage of the mount. So, any concern about it flying around is now taken care of.

    Excellent product.

GPS suction cup did not stick to base. - Jul 07, 2010

I was excited to provide a GPS mount to my parents that did not leave the tell-tale ring on the windshield telling thieves that a GPS was waiting in the car to be stolen. I was disappointed that the GPS suction mount did not stick to this GPS mount at all. I notice the picture has a round plate but the one I received had no such part. It was cheap enough I will find a use for it rather than return it.

     GPS Dashboard Mount - Jul 05, 2010

This is a great GPS Dashboard Mount. I use it with my Tom-Tom. I have owned this for several months now and have yet to have this thing slide off my dashboard like my old mount used to. If you purchase this for your GPS, you will not be disappointed.

     Works Perfectly! - Jul 02, 2010

Reading some of the previous reviews had me a little concerned. Some mentioned that their GPS wouldn't stick to the mount, and at least one person mentioned that their GPS was too big to fit on it. Perhaps the mount I received is of a newer design, but it works perfectly for me.

I bought a TomTom 540XXL gps, which boasts a 5" diagonal screen. Not only does it fit perfectly, but I can't quite see how even a larger screen wouldn't fit, since the screen for the most part will sit above the "shoulders" of the mount when properly attached. As for the gps not sticking to the mount, with the unit I recieved, I can't see how this would be a problem. The surface, while plastic, is quite hard and smooth, just like glass, and thus provides a perfect surface for the suction mount on the gps. The only thing I can think of, is that the plastic surface comes from the factory with a thing (and slightly crinkled) plastic protective film that you need to remove. If somebody didn't know to remove this film, it would prevent the gps from sticking properly.

Overall, I found this mount to work exactly as I expected it should, and well worth the money.

     Anchor Aweigh - Jul 01, 2010

This item secures the TomTom perfectly. Though it comes with a "permanent securing option", that's not needed if you wish to move it around in your vehicle.

     Potentially Dangerous - Jun 30, 2010

I installed this according to the instructions, and the third day or so that I had it, I took a sharp turn on the freeway, and the security hook detached from its adhesive, sending the entire setup flying off the dashboard to hit me square in the chest at a high speed. NOT GOOD.

It's a good idea, and nicer-looking than the other beanbags I've seen, but so long as it is going to turn into a projectile and hurt people, it gets one star.

     Works as advertised - Jun 26, 2010

I've had no problems getting the TonTom suction cup to stick to the plastic disk. In fact, when the mount has become unlocked, it still stayed stuck. Best of all, it doesn't move (unlike my older Garmin mount).

     great gps mount - Jun 22, 2010

The Tom Tom gps dashboard mount is a great gps mount. It is heavy and doesn`t move or fall when driving. There is a round disk that you have to put on the mount that makes suction very easy. The fold and go suction cup on the gps won`t stick to the dashboard mount unless you have the round disk attached to the dashboard mount.Just peel off the plastic from the round disk and place the disk on the mount and it will be glued to the mount. The suction cup sticks to the disk like concrete and you can easily tighten or loosen the suction cup and pull it off. This is great you don`t have to use water on the suction cup to make it stick like on the garmin suction cups.Another thing I like about the dashboard mount is it doesn`t leave any marks on the dahboard so gps thieves don`t know you own a gps device.

Nice Accessory For The GPS - Jun 21, 2010

The dashboard mount works well with the biggest benefit being the ease in removing the device when exiting the vehicle. Just pick up the mount and place it under a seat or other secure place within the car that is out of sight.

Ring marks will no longer need to be cleaned from the windshield either. The only negative is that the GPS vibrates more on the dash than when it is fixed on the windshield.
