Great - Aug 30, 2010
I bought this camera for our Hawaiian trip thinking I was going to get pretty good pics. I had no idea that they were going to come out great! I read the reviews and the price was right. So I took a chance. Underwater pics and film were clear and bright. Lighting is important with any underwater camera. So make sure its not clouding for the best results. The controls were easy to use and this little camera also took great lively pictures on dry land.
Best decision I ever made! - Aug 30, 2010
I was heading to Maui for some snorkeling and wanted an affordable, quality underwater camera. After weeks of research, and countless customer reviews,I finally settled on the Fujifilm Fine Pix Z33WP. I even went out on a limb and purchased the refurbished model.
I was VERY nervous the first day I took it out. I couldn't believe that a camera that cost me so little would be truly submersible. It didn't take me long to realize how great this camera is. I cannot say enough positive things about it!
I vowed to tell everyone I know how happy I am with this camera. It is lightweight, attractive, and takes great photos!
If you are on the fence about what camera to buy...jump off and get the Fujifilm. You will be glad you did.
Mix feeling - Overall does its job... - Aug 29, 2010
I bought this as a gift and I got to tried it before I hand it over. Reality is that once you get spoil by Canon quality, it is hard to settle for anything less in terms of image quality and menu/interface advancements of Canon brand, my previous comparable Canon model was the Powershot A590 IS.
The good about this little camera: It is little, very pocketable and WATER PROOF. The camera is also very inexpensive for being water proof, that is a big plus. Solid constructions, it feels solid and well built.
The not so good... If you buy it directly from the vendor Adorama instead of here, you will get it cheaper $100. The bad thing, Adorama is not a reputable vendor, the camera they sent me, although it works great, it looked used, not freshly packaged and had finger prints every where.
The image quality is inferior, noisy and too punchy (saturated). The images from the A590IS looked more even and natural. I was hoping for stelar battery performance since I was stepping out of the AA batteries, but to my surprise, the battery on this camera doesn't last as much either.
The whole interface is kind of weird and very slow, it takes for ever to browse pictures and the interface buttons are very difficult to press, if you have big hands and you are trying to change settings in the middle of a pool or the beach where you hands and the camera are wet, good luck.
Other then that, for $100, it is the perfect everyday use little camera, it fits every where and it does what it suppose to, just not a stelar performer. My point here is that if you are trying to get the best performance and image quality out of an entry level water camera, then spend an extra $100 and get the Canon version of this camera, other wise learn to live with the short comings.
Good luck.
best waterproof camera for the price!!! - Aug 29, 2010
Fujifilm FinePix Z33WP 10MP Digital Camera with 3x Optical Zoom (Green)
I purchase this camera for a trip we went on a cruise ship, the waterproof work as it best, the camera slack of some features, but for someone the most important thing is just capture those special moment without worry of water damage their be love expensive digital cameras ,this is the way to go!
My camera went to some tough test! we went to Dumm river fall in Jamaica, during the claiming of the fall I hit the camera again some rock, nothing hard but still my brand new camera still work perfect no damage was so ever.On Cozumel mexico we went snorkeling;forgetting put the strap on my wrist the camera slip out of my hand and end up of the bottom sandy floor around 15 feet deep(despite of the max deep of 3M(9feet)the owner manual recommend)no water get inside.Again great purchase for the price an purpose of this camera!
Good little camera - Aug 28, 2010
I was looking for something I could easily carry on hikes, bike rides or just easily anywhere. It had to be water proof in case I got rained on or sweated heavily. So far this has met my needs. Pictures come out pretty nice, and it is easy to use. The only complaint is that it did not come with a memory card, I had to get that elsewhere. But it was easy enough to do.
pretty awesome - Aug 28, 2010
My boyfriend is going to the boundary waters soon and he wanted to use my camera but its not waterproof so we bought this. We love the size, color, capabilities, picture quality. It is a rather neat camera and pretty sturdy.

PLUS-- I could not find it for 3 weeks-- finally my son told me it was in the fishing boat. OH no!! I found it submerged under rainwater I took it out, dried it off-- and it turned on!!! It works great!!
Great little camera for the price. - Aug 19, 2010
I've only had the camera for about a week, but I've tested it in a bucket of water (it was raining the first day I received it) and went to the beach the next day to test. In the bucket it took great pictures of a penny and at the beach it took great pictures of the very small shells on the bottom of the ocean. I also tested to see if you left the setting on "underwater" and forgot to change, would the pictures be OK. They were fine. The water was still a little churned up the next day, but it also took amazing pictures of my foot.(Not much else on the beach floor in Boynton).
Went to Peanut Island yesterday and snorkeled--clear water--really good pictures. I will have to say the pictures taken indoors are a little grainy looking, but that's not what I bought the camera for. If you're looking for a camera that's safe in and around the water, this is the best one available in the price range.
Great camera, know limits - Aug 18, 2010
I wanted a durable underwater / beach camera for a trip to Hawaii and didn't want to spend a lot of money. I had used a cheap used 5 Meg pixel camera in an underwater pouch before. Worked great, but the sand and salt destroyed to camera. I decided give this camera a try.
The first one was defective. I sent it back to Fujifilm for warranty repair. To their credit they simply replaced the camera.
Pros:
Small and easy to carry.
I like the push button setup. Easy to learn and gets you quickly to where you want to go.
Videos were clear and made capturing some fun underwater moments of my kids and nieces. Just need to remember to prefocus before shooting videos. Focus on something in the distance and maintain relative distance from the subject and it comes out great. Beach videos clear with good sound capture. Videos of us snorkeling in deep water off Lanai and in Pupukea on Oahu were fantastic for the small lens of this camera.
Cons:
Need to add a wrist flotation device. I found a good bright orange one that works. Caution read the reviews; there are similar looking ones that aren't buoyant enough to hold it up. I found this one on E-bay from an Australian merchant.
Also the wrist strap got in the way when we went kayaking. It keeps hitting the side of the kayak. I was worried that it damage the camera or breaks off. Need to add a neck strap as well. This kind of camera needs quick and easy access to take pictures and not worry about environment around it. Too hard to keep in pocket when kayaking.
In bright light the display screen is nearly useless. I had an old Minolta 35 mm underwater camera years ago. It was bright yellow floated and had a strap on aiming target. Would like to see some thing similar to help line up the camera to what you are photographing.
Would like a dedicated button to switch between underwater and surface shooting modes. It is a menu selection, but since this is an underwater camera, it would be handy to switch back and forth directly.
Side note, I am very careful about rinsing the camera clean before opening the bottom. But on one beach (Kailua) the sand is very fine. It sounds like some got inside the under cover slider. I can hear a grinding sound I haven't heard before. Hopefully this will not affect the water tightness of the camera.
Perfect Camera for the Water - Aug 15, 2010
Watch Video Here: http://www.amazon.com/review/R1VZ2YAIDVEL49 The video says it all. Sorry about the thumb. The video came out 100% perfect but did not transfer over well to Amazon.
I took this camera to Six flags and went into the water and down the slides with the camera all day long. Worked Great!
Went to the beach and also performed 100%. Camera is small enough to fit into a pocket and comes with a wrist strap that I used in the water. Very easy to set up and install battery and card. easy transfer to computer to download photos.
The camera does come with a quick set up guide which is really all that is needed. Purchased from Adorama. Quick shipping!
Have Fun in the Sun!!!
Not to shabby - Aug 12, 2010
Bought this camera when my son was born because I didn't want to have to worry about water damage for bath time pictures.
It's a nice little camera. We take it in the pool with us and haven't had any issues with it.
Late model, but worth saving the money for a specialty camera. - Aug 12, 2010
I wanted a camera I could use at the beach or pool without having to worry about getting any water or sand in it. I borrowed a "waterproof" camera from a friend, and was pleased with the functionality of it. So, the wife and I decided we would be better off taking a waterproof camera to various locations that were not suited for our higher end camera.
So, after reading reviews of all the other waterproof cameras, it was clear that none are perfect, and none of them take the best photos, whether above or below the water. I don't publish my pictures in any art galleries or magazines...I just want to capture moments of myself and my family having a good time at the beach or pool.
With that said, I have used this thing twice at the pool, and it takes GREAT pictures...given the fact that it was submerged underwater most of the time. There aren't any "o-rings", but I am sure replacing the foam gasket at the SINGLE opening (that allows for battery, PC connection, and computer upload) after frequent use, will ensure peace-of-mind when you walk to the beach or enter the water. There is no sliding door to protect the lens, but that is a good thing. I would hate to have a lens protector slide up and down every time I turned it on...if it had a piece of sand trapped in it. Buy a case to protect the lens and LCD screen when you aren't using it!
If you want a camera that is for fun, save your time and money and get it while it's still available. It's at a price where it is used only when you don't want your better camera to be exposed to...and still takes great you can share with your friends and family.
Good Little Camera for its low price - Aug 09, 2010
I bought this camera for my trip to Hawaii since I did not want to bring my expensive DSLR plus I wanted something that I could use underwater. The camera is not bad for the price. The camera took better video and picture quality then I would of expected. I liked that the camera was very small and easy to use. I would highly recommend this camera if you are going on a vacation that you know you are going to go snorkeling or if you want to use it in your pool. The video setting was my favorite when it came to using this camera and I loved the sunset setting also.
Link to my Youtube account which all videos from Hawaii I used this camera (Videos: Manta Rays, Eels, Atlantis Submarine and Royal Kona Resort Luau):

GOT A BAD ONE? - Aug 08, 2010
23 pictures and it quit. I purchased it for outdoors, but no intent to get it wet. Pics OK until enlarged. I have a cheaper older 6 mx camera that does much better. Bummer is when I called the not so friendly toll-free# advised it would be min 3wks for return. Buying the Canon version as my neighbor's is far superior.
GREAT CAMERA FOR THE PRICE! - Aug 08, 2010
I purchased this camera as a secondary camera for a trip to Barbados because I wanted something waterproof but did not want to spend a lot of money. This camera was very impressive. I am usually a DSLR person but this camera is so portable and durable it is hard to argue against it. It now goes everywhere with me just in case. I have not taken it diving but have taken it in rain storms and out in the ocean with me swimming and it works great. If you are looking for a low priced water proof camera this is it.
MY DAUGHTER LOVES THIS CAMERA! - Aug 07, 2010
Purchased this camera back in December for Christmas for my teen daughter. Went to Cancun right after Christmas and she loved taking photos in the pool and at the beach. Also nice for boating trips and swim parties! She loves the "easy video" button and the fact that she can charge her battery and not worry about AA's. We also had fun taking photos in the rain in Paris. Overall a great camera. And it was less expensive on Amazon than in Target - BTW, Target does not sell this camera in Pink.
waterproof??? - Aug 06, 2010
This camera was a terrible purchase. The first time it got in contact with water, it stoped working. I returned to the seller and have not recieved my money back. Hope it happens soon
not waterproof - Aug 02, 2010
The first time we used the camera there was condensation on the lens. It's possible we got a bad camera just by luck. The manufacturer refunded most of my money, but I forgot and left in the memory card ($18.00) and returned it with the camera. That was not refunded. Not the greatest experience overall.
Great Waterproof Camera - Jul 31, 2010
This is a great little "waterproff" camera. I got it to take fishing and on the water instead of my more expensive cameras. The quality of pictures, ease of use, and light weight are excellent. I have not worked up to submierging it but I wanted something that would survive a dunking not take pictures of the Titanic.
What a picture perfect ,wet and wild cam and video device. - Jul 29, 2010

Exceeded my expectations - Jul 28, 2010
I purchased this camera prior to going to Hawaii. I knew I would be snorkeling and was looking for an economical underwater camera. I am not a photographer, so I just wanted a basic point and shoot camera that was idiot proof, and would work underwater. The camera is very portable - it fits comfortably in your pocket - and image quality is very good. It's a good all around camera - takes good photos and video both in and out of the water. The only minor complaint is battery life. I recommend buying a backup battery, and having it ready to go when you need it - not a big deal. It has some limitations (3X optical zoom, can't zoom in video mode), but for the price I paid, I am extremely happy with it, and would recommend it to anyone looking for a basic, versatile camera with underwater capability.
Great Camera - Jul 26, 2010
This camera is perfect for my purpose. I didn't really want to take underwater photos, I just wanted to be able to be swimming in the water and be able to take photos of people in the water. The quality of the photos are great! This camera is lightweight and easy to use. (I made my own wrist strap out of cut noodles to keep it from sinking). I definitely recommend this WP camera!
Fuji waterproof camera - Jul 21, 2010
I bought this to take on a trip to Mexico. It performed better than I expected. Battery life is also good. I got a spare battery from EBay for $5 and did not need it until the 5th day after about 100 photos were taken and viewed many times.
Best underwater camera for the money! - Jul 20, 2010
I went on vacation to Cozumel, Mexico and wanted to have an underwater camera for snorkeling. This camera took great photos and video.
At first there is that concern that it won't do well underwater, but it really came through. It has a large view screen but like any camera outdoors it was difficult to see the image, but after the second day, I got the feel for the camera and with the right angles I took great pics. My sister and sister-in-law bought this camera also and we were all amazed at the quality of the photos and ease of use. It takes beautiful pictures outside of the water also. The only drawback is that it doesn't come with a flotation strap or a manual, you get a CD for the computer that wouldn't work on our computers.
