     love it! - Aug 30, 2010

This works great, stays put, and doesn't leave those nasty suction cup marks on the window!

Works well, not sure for long term - Aug 26, 2010

I wanted an alternative to the circular bean bag I used for my old Garmin GPS. I've used this new friction mount for well over a month and two long road trips. It has worked well, and has lasted in direct sun lite in parking lot. It fit my Garmin GPS with no problems. There has been some residue left on the dash, but so far not a big deal for me. I'm a little concerned of the long term performance of the "friction" of the base. I presume I can clean it and it becomes tacky again. I have not had a problem yet, so I'm not sure of the outcome. This form is much nicer since it is lighter and folds smaller to pack in a bag or suitcase. The rubber mount does not conform to my Jetta dash as much as I would like, but it works.

     LOVE IT!! - Aug 25, 2010

I love this mount--I haven't been happy with any others I've tried before this one.

Someone mentioned the adhesive on the bottom--there isn't any problem with it so maybe it was corrected since then.

Small, compact, and stylish - Aug 24, 2010

I really like this mount. I was debating on getting the sandbag mounts or this one and after reading the reviews, I decided to get this. This mount folds flat to fit in the glove compartment without taking much space unlike the sandbag mounts would. I like the design of it (sleek), and also the "rubber sticky part" bends and flex to conform to any dashboard shape. It's stiffer than it looks so you'll have to actually bend and adjust it to the dash. It wont just flop and plop as I thought it would. Also, unlike what other reviews wrote, this DID NOT leave a residue on my dashboard. Dirt does adhere to the sticky bottom, but you can just clean it off with water and let it air dry. The material is similar to those reusable gel sticky lint rollers if you happen to have used or seen one before. I would recommend this.

Nice looking unit but haven't used yet. - Aug 21, 2010

Quite honestly, I haven't used it yet as I bought it without realizing I might not use it or need it. It looks easy to use but I'll see later.

     GPS mount - Aug 15, 2010

I bought this to use in place of the window suction mount (so obvious that you are using a GPS in your car). I works very well, GPS attaches easily and the mount stays on the dash with no problems. When not in use, it easily slips under the seat; therefore, there is no evidence that a GPS is in use.      Very good product and provider - Aug 14, 2010

This is a nifty way to place a GPS wherever it works best for you. My Garmin suction cup failed and I bought this to hold the GPS in a place where I could see it easily. This product works perfectly.

     okay - Aug 10, 2010

it sticks to the dashboard but kind of looks like its going to fall off any minute

     Dashboard Mount - Aug 05, 2010

This product is attractive and functional. It was easy to use and accomplished my desire of a dashboard mount for my Garmin GPS. The beanbag mount looks awkward and takes too much space, but this one is small and looks professional. My only problem with it is the cost, which should be a few dollars less.

     OUTSTANDING! - Aug 01, 2010

Where has this mount been all of my GPS owning life? I've had a beanbag type for a few years and thought I'd try this one out. WOW, what a difference! It's slim, light weight, good looking and most important it does the job in spades. I have custom-made dash mats on all of my vehicles and wasn't sure how it would work. Right after I got the mount we went on a 900 mile road trip, which included many miles of winding mountain roads and hairpin curves as well as over 50 miles of really bumpy gravel washboard trails. Through all of this, the only time the Garmin base even budged was after approximately 10 miles of the washboard roads when it began to creep about 1/4 inch and then stopped. As a comparison, the beanbag mount would have been all over the place. At about half the size and a fraction of the weight of the beanbag mount this mouint is the only way to go.

     Stays Put - Jul 30, 2010

This is a great product, it stays put. I have a car and a truck and the mount has gripped well on either dashboard. The marks it leaved on the dash are insignificant and easily wiped off. This product is much better than the windshield mount.

    I definitely recommend it.

     Works great - Jul 30, 2010

Took it on our vacation, it worked great. It never moved from its position on the dash. Even while a teeaage driver was behind the wheel.

     Couldn't be better! - Jul 21, 2010

I've been a user of the Garmin bean bags for many years and am surprised I've never broken my nuvi when it flew off the dashboard going around a corner. I've had this new mount a couple weeks and it has solved that. It really sticks. I've been using with a new nuvi 3790T (which I also love) and it hasn't budged once!

I travel about regularly and was worried about the stickiness collecting random stuff and have solved that so far by cutting a piece of plastic out of the packaging it came in. I have a pouch to keep the dashboard mount in when it's not in use and I just stick the plastic on the bottom before putting it in the pouch. It's smaller than the old beanbag. Love it!

     It works! - Jul 19, 2010

I bought this for my Nuvi 200w and have used it in 3 different autos with complete success. It is small, secure, and convenient. It works!.

Portable Frictio Dashboard Mount - Jul 16, 2010

Very pleasantly surprised how well it stays put. I am very happy with it. It's easy
to change locations and it pretty much stays where ever you put it.

     Ugly... - Jul 12, 2010

What I didn't think about was that my older GPS was window mounted and therefore the mount itself was hidden behind the GPS when it was attached. The only thing you saw was the face of the GPS and the dangling cord. Now I see the GPS, dangling cord and the Ugly friction mount. It also leaves a oily film on the dash when removed. I think I'm going to recoup some of my money by selling this on e-bay. It doesn't move when you corner so I guess that's a plus. Lastly, the $27 I paid seems real high.

     A Must Have Mount - Jul 12, 2010

    Garmin Portable Friction Dashboard Mount

For the people that get annoyed from suction cups, or for sport cars that have a very limited view from the windshield, or for people that live in countries were laws doesn't permit to install a suction cup on the windshield, I think this mount is the best. It looks magnificent, that you might mistake it to a part of your interior

     Great Stability - Jul 07, 2010

What a great invention. I have used the adhesive stick to the dashboard and the suction cup holders to no avail. This works. Highly recommend. Very stable and easy to use.

So far so good - Jul 03, 2010

My dash is relatively flat so the dash mount was an easy fit. You might want to leave it in the hot sun so it's soft and pliable when you're heady to fit it to your ride. For us, it is far better than the windshield suction cup; driver and passenger are both able to reach it now. I experimented but couldn't seem to mount the windshield unit where it wasn't a distraction. The windshield unit came "unstuck" the first time I actually used it and that broke the male end of the power plug on the back of the GPS. My daughter cast covetous eyes on the dash mount but this product won't work on the TomTom she loves or she'd probably have "borrowed my dash mount for testing purposes". It shipped and arrived quickly and so far it's worked very, very well for us.

     Wondrful - Jul 02, 2010

This is so easy to use and realy works well. Does not slide when truning. I don't have to keep taking it from the window in my car and doesn't leave a mark on my window like the suction cup left.

top notch mounting base - Jul 02, 2010

After ordering our GPS and reading about the problems with the suction mounts, we read reviews for other mounting options. The reviews for the friction mount were all good and we ordered one and have not been disappointed. It is working perfectly in the hottest weather. It has not left a stain or any type of film on our dash as some reviewers have stated. We are very pleased.

     Good product - Jul 01, 2010

Works well, as described, does not move with my 5" GPS unit. Good product but leaves residue after taking it off from dashboard.

Rvw of Garmin GPS dashboard mount. - Jun 30, 2010

We were able to easily use the product immediately, and it adapted to our vehicle great. It's solid and stable. Good product.

WAY safer and better than GPS vent mount - Jun 28, 2010

OK, it looks a bit imposing on the dash but compared to the somewhat flimsy family of vent mounts, this mini-beast keeps your GPS unit 1) at an eye-level where you can see it far easier (and safer for the driver) than looking "down" or "sideways" at a vent mount lower dash position and 2) stays put when the vehicle jiggles or jars whereas the vent type GPS mounts I have tried (with NO success) can and all too often come loose. Note that if you must swerve quickly this top-dash mount can slide off but under most normal driving conditons, it WILL stay put! I now have two vent mount kits that I have set aside. Retired. Permanently. I even super-glued one set so the clips would not snake out of their slide hole (as they absolutely will when jarred or jiggled) and even with this "fix", they eventually plopped out of the vent. 3) The vent mounts can damage the thin vent vanes. Or so I predict. 4) The dash top mount is adjustable for curved or odd shaped environments so it WILL work adequately on most cars, suv's, truck dashes. Bottom line - well worth the extra bucks and the SAFEST and smartest choice for eye-level position of potentially distracting "things" in your cockpit. With correct fitment (will work with most of the newer GPS units) this type of mount is truly the best choice. Remember, DO NOT TEXT while driving. Please! You might be sharing the highway with me and I'd rather meet you at Chili's than in a head-on in a five-thousand pound jumble of sheet metal and plastic.

     Garmin Gel Stand - Jun 24, 2010

The Garmin gel stand for my car works perfectly! It never slides around and the Garmin has never come off the stand. It is so easy to just set on my dashboard and it sticks like glue. I have had no problem with any residue or stain on my black grained leather surface . My dashboard has no flat areas, so the flexible base of the stand is just perfect and molds itself right to the curved surface. I am completely delighted with it, as without the stand I had to hold it or set it in a precarious position where it would scoot around or fall on the floor while I was driving. When I want to store it, I just set it sticky side down on the shiny plastic surface covering my storage compartment between my bucket seats. Then I use it to hold my sunglasses! I recommend 5 stars!
