Cheaper then purchase from Microsoft - Aug 26, 2010

About three dollar cheaper then purchase direct from Microsoft, although you do have to wait about a week to receive the points. I believe the saving is less then the one I purchased about a year ago, as I believe the saving was about five dollars.

Better way to get points - Aug 26, 2010

When I run out of points, I prefer to come on to Amazon and buy them either in 1600 or 4000 bunches. I prefer this over giving my credit card info to Microsoft. The only downside to the product is it comes in a blister pack that is a pain to even get the card out. Once you are through that painful process, it is fairly easy to get these points associated with your account.

Better deal then buying them from microsoft! - Aug 24, 2010

The price was right on this 4000 point card, it was cheaper then what microsoft was selling the same amount of points for.

Online Game Code FAIL - Aug 24, 2010

I just bought an ONLINE Xbox Live Points Card, and it did NOT work! Do yourself a favor and do NOT buy the online codes, you'll obviously have a high chance of getting ripped of. Thanks for nothing Amazon!!!

     Works Great! - Aug 23, 2010

This worked flawlessly for me! Instant too! Entered in the number on the X-Box 360 and instantly had my points!

Press the big X button on the remote, sign-in, then go to the "Marketplace" tab on the left, and select "Redeem Code" and type the number in. That's it, you are done! It detects which kind of card and everything!

This is actually cheaper than buying them through the X-Box itself! Hooray! (However, there seems to be a hidden limit of 1 card per person. Not sure how long until you can buy a second one.)

     So many options! - Aug 21, 2010

This 4000 Microsoft points card can be used for so many different games! The great price below retail makes those extra map packs and xbox arcade games that much cheaper. Awesome!!!

Only can buy one? Pointless!! - Aug 16, 2010

No where on the page does it say you can only buy one card at a time but just tried to purchase more than one and got a message saying there was a limit on how many you could purchase (I was trying to buy 2). So if you buy this with the idea of saving a few bucks but then have to pay a few bucks to have it shipped to you it's rather pointless. Might as well just buy it right off of Xbox Live!

Yeah, I guess you can try and find something else to buy to add to the cart but that's Amazon's way of trying to force you to purchase something along with the card. Which I don't need or want anything else right now. Very annoying that this policy isn't stated anywhere on the product page and you only find out when you go to check out!

Edited to add - you are only allowed to buy one card ever - once you've bought one that's it! This should be clearly stated! You only find this out after you've added the card to your cart, start the checkout process and then get a message saying "one per customer".

     Try the 4000 points - Aug 16, 2010

Negative stars if possible for questionable advertising practices. I've gone so far as to say bait & switch in other discussions. Limited quantity never stated anywhere until your half way through check out. Single card plus S&H cost more than buying directly from XBL or at a local store giving me instant gratification instead of 4 to 7 business days which from the sounds of some is more like 14 to 30. If I'm wanting to buy and I see alternate offer of 4000 point card which is cheaper than XBL and has free shipping makes waiting the 4 to 30 days somewhat worth it right? Bait & switch I see.

     Price was cheap - Aug 15, 2010

There's not much to say. It was less than MSRP and the code worked without any issues. Many people complain about having to buy MS points instead of using cash on Xbox Live Marketplace but the fact you can discounted points is a bug plus for me.

Thanks for scamming me amazon - Aug 13, 2010

well i have bought codes before and they have worked.... but now they have been invalid and xbox live will not accept them. I see fault in this and this shows irresponsibility by saying they cant do anything if you have looked at the code.... wtf amazon thanks a bunch.

Could they use a little more plastic with this package? - Aug 07, 2010

I personally find it hilarious as to the amount of packaging used to contain this XBL point card. I nearly cut my hand open even after using scissors on the this plastic packaging. It amazes me that Amazon or Micro$oft doesn't offer digital code transactions for point cards. Granted the deal of a 1600 point card for[...] is a great buy, but it just seems as though the code could have been emailed to me rather than shipped. The other thing that was horrible about this offer is that I could only purchase one of these cards...that actually pissed me off a lot. I couldn't even make multiple orders. Oh well. It was a good deal though.

     Great Product! - Aug 05, 2010

Buying the card from Amazon is the best thing you can do because they have done away with the scratch-off cards. Now the cards come with a peal-off piece that reveals the code. The card came in a timely manner and is packaged so it cannot be tampered with before you get it =)
I am very happy with this product!!

Definetly worth it for less than retail - Jul 29, 2010

These cards are worth it if you can get them under the retail price to save a bit of cash and so you don't have to use your Credit Card on Xbox live.

     Good deal - Jul 17, 2010

It's a points card for slightly cheaper than you can find in WalMart, Target etc. Type in code & it works, not much more to it.

Amazon has great deals on these cards. - Jul 17, 2010

Normally you have to pay 19.99 plus tax for one of these cards. I snagged one for under 17 bucks with no tax. You need these cards if you're buying DLC for your xbox games.

Best option for buying points - Jul 05, 2010

For some reason, Amazon's price on the 1600 point card is the best deal around (even better than the price they offer on the 4000 point card when you look at points-per-dollar), so if you are looking for the best deal on points without delving into the fishy "pre-loaded silver account" market, this is it.

Does what it says on the tin. - Jul 05, 2010

I saved about 10% purchasing my 4000 microsoft points from Amazon rather than from Microsoft. I'm not sure what else Amazon would like me to say about this. It is a cardboard card with a code that is worth 4000 microsoft points. I got the card, opened the little window, entered the code I saw there into the correct screen on my xbox 360 and WHAM, I suddenly had 4000 points more than I'd had previously. So yeah, it worked.

Great Gift for Any Gamer! - Jul 02, 2010

If you don't know what to purchase your favorite gamer, this is it! My son asks for XBOX points for every occasion. Buy it along with the XBOX gold card and you'll be loved forever.

     bad code - Jun 25, 2010

The code I received has already been redeemed. There's no place on the order to contact the seller. Now starts the red tape to get my money back.

WARNING ABOUT PRELOADED SILVER ACCOUNTS - Jun 23, 2010

I bought a preloaded silver account off of ebay a little while back, it seemed fishy, so I did some digging. I called the name attached to the silver account and talked to a gentleman who had had a credit card number stolen and used fraudulently to buy these points. I returned the account and gave the man all the info to help catch the crook.

If you buy a preloaded silver account, you are most likely buying points loaded from a stolen credit card!! Hopefully MS will begin to crack down on this activity.

     Activate Digital Code - Jun 19, 2010

Has anyone ever had to do this? I went to the XBOX Live support page, it says the retailer has to activate the code. Anyone know how long that takes for Amazon to activate the code?

     Best price around - May 21, 2010

Not much to say, it's a MS Points card, it is a great price, and it works. That's what matters to me.

Why do they have reviews for this? - May 18, 2010

You use it to buy stuff on xbox live and possibly the zune service (not really sure on that last part), It's basically a gift certificate, so your basically buying a less useful version of cash, way to go and yes, I realize I am approaching the record for the single longest sentence ever.

     xbox extra - May 18, 2010

i don't really know the details on this but the person who uses these points buys a lot of them, so they must be good. he uses them for xbox live and sometimes to rent movies to play on the xbox. the price on amazon is much better than we can get if we buy locally.

     House of Cards - May 14, 2010

Not sure why anyone would give this item less than 5 stars. It's a freakin points card! It's exchanging one form of currency for another form of currency, usually at a discounted rate (unless you get the instant code). Sure, you can say you hate the points system or you hate the game you bought with the points or you hate shipping fees but that has nothing to do with the actual card. It does what you expect it to do and it does it well. I actually think it's kind of cute too, especially when it's fresh out of the shipping box. Once again, it's just a card that happens to have a little strip on the back that you rip off to reveal an alphanumeric code that you enter into Xbox Live to download all sorts of wonderful goodies. Get one. Get two. Get them now!
