I bought three of them and they were sent without the original box, and they look like if they were used. The sticker with the instruction in one of them looks like if it were re-attached to it. And the quality of that stickers and the connectors are not as the originals.

 A Necessity, Not as Sensitive as Main Controller - Jul 21, 2010

You've got to buy this, especially if you use the games like boxing, etc. However, it's not quite as sensitive as the main controller, so I find it doesn't always pick up my left-handed movements. Maybe Nintendo will come out with a newer, more sensitive model some day. Still, this is definitely a necessity to fully enjoy your Wii experience.

This is a review of the quality of the product, not it's ingenuity or usefulness to gameplay.

Through 20+ years of experience I have found that OEM game controllers are the best way to go. I am not abusive to my equipment.

That being said, I have now gone through 5 genuine Nunchuks in less than a year.

1 had the Z button not work right out of the box. It was returned to Amazon for replacement. The replacement controller Z button failed after about 4 hours of gameplay.

1 had an extremely stiff stick I hoped would loosen over time. It did not, eventually sticking in the down position.

2 have had sticks that break loose and eventually become non-responsive.

I have purchased the y-wing screwdriver to disassembe Wii controllers in hopes to repair any of these to no avail. They do not have serviceable parts that can be easily swapped out.

I'm gonna bite the bullet and try an aftermarket unit for my next purchase.

Seems that not many games make use of the Nunchuk anymore.

Other: Amazon must have this thing misclassified for the ratings system - got asked "How much fun is this game?" and "How do you rate this game overall?" - Hello... It's a controller not a game.

The Wii comes with one Wii Remote Controller and one Nunchuck to plug into that Wii Remote Controller. While it's a good idea to get a second Wii Remote Controller, many games don't require a Nunchuck, so it may be worth checking your games before getting the extra Nunchuck. For example, you'll most likely want an extra one for Super Smash Bros. Brawl multiplayer gaming, but you probably won't need one for Mario Kart Wii, and for single-player games like The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess the Nunchuck that comes with the Wii will be sufficient.

 Careful of fakes! - May 10, 2010

I got a fake from AskElectronics. Just be very careful when checking that it's genuine. If it's a "Japanese" version and comes with a club nintendo code (fake), then it's a fake nunchuk! I didn't realize until after I left feedback and the seller refused to give me my money back. Amazon couldn't do anything either since I found out to late.

I got an original white 1 of these. Many Wii games require this so you wouldn't be able to play those without 1 of these. Luckily they're widely available just in case. They can be a bit expensive depending on where you get them though. It's a breeze to operate once you get familiar with how it works. Might take a bit of practice depending on the game. I like this controller so I give it a 5 star rating.
