They gotta be kidding advertising that this is a custom case for the 3970T. The Nuvi is a very thin unit. Put it into this case and it falls right out! Not what you want with a $445. gps! Don't throw your money away on this case.

I actually got this bundled with my Nuvi 660. I was initially concerned that the fit was too tight, but over time, the case quickly adapted to the unit and the unit can be slipped in and out with ease, and without slipping out on its own.

Pros:
1. Excellent quality, fit and finish; minimalist design
2. Nuvi 660 will not slip out on its own, but very easy to slip the unit in or out manually
3. Inner padding is soft and will not scratch

Cons:
1. Has a pocket that is unusable for all practical purposes; it fits the unit like a glove and there's no space to squeeze anything in there

The case does not have any extra features; no belt loop or straps or other pockets. This doesn't bother me since I've never had any reason to carry my auto gps unit on my person. I've only needed to throw it into glove box in the car or into my backpack while travelling. For these purposes, this case works great.

This protective case is not made for the Nuvi 3790T. It's for the older Garmin models. The case is to wide, you could fit two 3790T's in it.

Pouch appears exactly as seen in the image. It is black in color, feels stiff to hold and is well crafted. The Garmin 4.3" unit fits in snugly and will not slip out if turned upside down. The case looks sturdy enough that it might even save the Garmin unit from damage if dropped although I wouldn't recommend any buyer put it through that test. There is a noticable odor (VOCs) emanating from the product. It doesn't bother me but in case you are sensitive to smells that resemble shoe polish, this might not be for you. Otherwise, it is a decent product and reasonable value for money.

Lastly, I think Garmin should provide a protective case but since they don't, this one fits that need well.

This carrying case is too big to fit the Garmin Nuvi 3700 series. You will need a thinner case as this new Nuvi is really slim.

The cover is great, really protects the unit. What might be useful is two small velcro strips on the outside bottom so the folded-up cable could also be attached and the pair kept together. FWIW

This item is a must have if you have a gps. It protects your gps from being damaged. If your going to spend that much money for a gps, why would you not protect so that you could get all the use out of it you could? This item came in a timely manner after the order was placed. Would definitly recommend it.

Love this case. I was initially torn betw this one and another zipper type case and decided this one looked sleaker and easier to use. I was right. GPS slips right in and comes right out without the fuss of zipping all the way around and getting the case caught on the zipper. This case worked excellent...

Same snug fit for 755T with this Garmin case as the case that came with my 360. A little pricey, but durable. I only bought it because I was so pleased with the 360 case.

It carries the 4.3 inch Garmins perfectly. The one I have is a couple years old and it doesn't hold the Garmin as tight as it used to. Despite that, it still works just fine.

My Garmin 765T is a tight fit, but it also definitely won't fall out of holder. The case is leather of reasonable quality and the front and back have some type of (probably plastic) inserts to stiffen case and will protect screen. So, this is not just a soft leather case, the front and back of case are rigid. Garmin and Amazon do sell another Garmin leather GPS case w/ a magnetic close flap for 4.3" GPS units, but case is about $10 more than this one... so you decide. One side benefit of this case not having, for example a magnetic closure is that it is small and simple and fits the unit like a (tight) leather glove. Consequently, if you are female and have a small purse, then this case should fit in your purse and protect your GPS screen from being scratched. If you're male, then this case isn't much thicker than an overloaded bi-fold wallet.

It's simply a good case, not great case, for the money and has the added benefit of being manufactured by the same company that probably made your GPS.
