       just OK - Sep 03, 2010

i buy a new point-and-shoot camera about once a year. i have had 4 fuji's and 1 cannon. this was my first nikon. and i was not impressed. it takes too long to get the camera going...so if you want to hurry up to capture a shot, you can forget about it. the camera takes about 15 seconds to acutally take the picture. also, it does NOT come with a memory card of any kind! not even a small one to get you started...i read the reviews prior to purchasing and somone posted that it did come with a card...but it definitely doesn't...you can however save a few photos to the camera without a card. the owners info booklet does not say what type of memory card to use. lame owners manual. sllllllow shutter speed. sleek look. above average picture quality. overall its just OK.

Beautiful pictures but goes to sleep to fast. - Sep 02, 2010

For the price the photos are beautiful. I tend to use disposable batteries because they're easier to manage when planning a day of shooting the camera. The ONLY thing I do not like about this camera is that it goes into "sleep" mode too quickly. I've missed many, many shots by raising the camera to point and shoot only to have to half-press the shutter button to wake the camera up, only to have missed the good shot. I use this camera mostly for photos of my young grandson, on the job, as well as the movie clip feature. I plan to replace this camera with the same one whenever I need to but it bugs me when the camera snoozes on me.

       Nikon L22 - Aug 31, 2010

I had no problems with delivery, in fact the package arrived 2 days early. The camera (with Ikelite housing) is going to be a nice asset to my business as we take many underwater photos for the projects we do. The vibration reduction feature is an added bonus, as it is hard to find a solid platform while diving, to take your shots. So far I am very pleased with the overall outcome.

Love, Love, LOVE this Camera! - Aug 30, 2010

Just for taking pictures of family and friend events, and I've discovered the video feature. The picture quality is amazing! I'm very pleased with this purchase!

Takes good pictures when the flash comes on - Aug 30, 2010

This camera is OK. It takes a pretty good picture when the flash works but that's very inconsistent. For $100 it's not bad. I have heard great things about Nikon and this hasn't held up to that hype. My $50 Kodak easy share was better then this camera.
I would pass on this and get something else.

good for the money - Aug 28, 2010

good for the money. still shots can be blurry if not focused for a second. not like the 35mm, but clarity is sufficient.

WHEN YOU BUY THIS PRODUCT YOU WILL BE MORE THAN PLEASED WITH YOUR SELF, YOU WILL BE IN AN OTHER LEVER OF SATISFACTION. IT'S EASY TO USED AND TO UNDERSTAND. SO EASY A KID CAN WORK WITH IT. GREAT PRODUCT.Nikon Coolpix L22 12.0 MP Digital Camera with 3.6x Optical Zoom and 3.0-Inch LCD (Red-primary)

       I Love This Camera - Aug 22, 2010

I actually was out in stores looking for a camera. My daughter suggested this one, and what a purchase it has been. My oldest daughter and I love taking pictures, and although I am not a professional photographer by any means, and this is not a "professional camera" the pictures this camera takes are amazing. We have had more comments on the site where our pictures are then we did without this camera.

It's easy to use, I am in no means a "techie" and have learned to use this camera with ease. The automatic focus is wonderful. The fact that it uses AA batteries is a plus.

       Coolpix Nikon - Aug 20, 2010

      small but big on features

       It's a Lemon! - Aug 13, 2010

I brought this camera for my daughter. I thought I couldn't go wrong with a Nikon. Big mistake. After about a month it stopped turning on. I took it in for service and they replaced it. The new (reconditioned) camera worked for about 6 months then it wouldn't turn on. Back in for service. The "fixed" it. It was good for about another 2 months then the same thing. I had that camera in and out of the shop for 2 years until it's extended warrenty finally was up - and now it is dead for good.
If you want a good camera - get a Fuji. I use and abuse a Fuji Finepix everyday for work. It has NEVER failed me or been in the shop in 5 years! It is bigger than the Nikon - but does so much more.

Great little camera for a low price - Aug 05, 2010

Purchased this prior to a vacation this summer. The camera functioned very well. Daylight photos were almost as good as my digital slr. Low light needed the subjects to be still and a steady hand. Great value for the money. The extra optical zoom set this camera ahead of the pack. Most in the class only have 3x this one has 3.8x. The fact that it takes standard AA batteries was a huge plus when the recharagble batteries ran out. You will need to buy your own rechargable batteries and charger this unit does not come with them. Many in this class do. This is my only knock.

Much better than expected - Aug 03, 2010

I bought this camera for my 7 YO this past Christmas to replace a sub-$100 Nikon P&S that failed after 2 years. I was at first concerned with Nikon's poor reputation for P&S cameras, it has a plastic body, and the need to go into the electronic menu to change basic settings rather than turn a physical dial. However, this did not at all trouble my daughter and she quickly figured it all out. NOTE: I'm just in awe of how easily even the youngest kids seem to be able to quickly master complex mobile phones and digital electronics. It has a decent size viewfinder that's been easy to see in bright outdoor light. The camera has consistently produced satisfying snap shots and 5x7 enlargements (good color and sharpness) and is really easy to use. Battery life is OK and it uses regular batteries so replacements are never an issue. She loves this camera and I kind of like it too ... when I get the chance to use it.

In our experience, it's been a reliable entry level camera.

       Terrible Focus - Aug 03, 2010

I bought this camera for the price (on sale at purchase) and because it's so cute. However, out of 50 pictures only about 15 - 20 come out. The pics are blurry and it takes too long to focus. No chance of taking a pic quickly with this camera. I've missed some great moments and all too frequently have to depend on pics taken by friends because mine are just a blur. I must admit that when the pics are focused they come out beautiful, but I would not recommend purchasing. It is not reliable. Also, make sure you have spare batteries with you - they drain pretty quickly.

Terrible camera. Images blurry. - Aug 01, 2010

This is the 4th Nikon Coolpix that I purchased. I owned the Coolpix L6 and liked it very much. The L6 was a great little camera to have in your pocket or purse. It took great photos. The only bad thing - which was big - that I didn't like about that camera was the shutter lag on flash photos. In spite of that, I liked the small size and very nice photos. I purchased two more as gifts. Unfortunately, I dropped mine and wanted to replace it. I purchased the L22 and took it to a wedding. Out of 50 photos, I only have one nice one. I tried it in the garden both on regular and on macro - again did not perform well. Most photos are blurry. Thank goodness for the great return policy at Amazon.com! I will be selecting another camera soon.

Excellent camera for the money - Aug 01, 2010

Easy to use, convenient size, excellent price. The continuous shot is useful if you have a golfer in your family! I have been very happy with it, and only have had a couple of times that things are not in focus, but I think I have to get to know the choices of settings a little better. Takes great close-ups of flowers, etc. I highly recommend this camera.

       Makes a great gift - Jul 29, 2010

We purchased this camera as a gift for someone who is not really a heavy technology user and was planning to go on vacation with a classic film camera. Needless to say this was a really good purchase, and the red color is a really nice touch and is the first compliment you will get.

Camera was super easy to setup, just insert the memory card and battery and you are ready to point and click. Picture quality is good enough that you will not really complain unless you are super picky and are a professional, but for most intents and purposes this is a great buy.

Makes a great gift for anyone really.

       Bad Warranty - Jul 28, 2010

I purchased this camera in March so I could have a nice point and shoot to go along with my Canon 30D. I used the camera once then placed inside a camera bag. In June, we were going to my daughters graduation and brought along both cameras. We used the Nikon before the ceremony and then placed it inside the camera bag and then inside the Canon camera bag (for ease of carrying). The Canon camera bag is a large backpack style bag with padded individual compartments for the different lens...my point... the Nikon was really protected. We pulled the camera out to shoot some photos after the ceremony and the LCD screen was blurry. I sent the camera back to Nikon to fix and they stated the LCD screen is not covered under warranty. It would be $85 to fix. I am extremely displeased with the warranty as well as the product. I know the camera was protected and did not get crushed or damaged by us as Nikon states. I strongly recommend looking at another camera as well as another brand with a better warranty.

       A lot of camera for a reasonable price! - Jul 19, 2010

This camera is amazing! I bought it based on the reviews I read, but had NO idea of all the different things this camera does! It shoots videos and it shoots in "sports mode" - taking many pictures one right after the other so you don't miss anything. We have used this camera at some multiple-day music festivals and are simply amazed at the clarity of the pictures and how easy it is to use! The sound on the videos is good (if your computer speakers are good) and a unipod solves the shake problem if you have one. The batteries last pretty long if you aren't shooting videos - that seems to use them up quicker. This is my first digital camera, and I bought it because 1) easy to use, 2) large preview screen and 3) uses AA batteries. I was absolutely thrilled it did all this extra stuff. Friends who took the same pictures with their cameras were surprised at the difference when the pictures were posted. Ours were much better. Highly recommend this camera - especially to the camera novice (like me).

Is it just me? - Jul 16, 2010

Is it just me, or is this camera hard to focus? I've taken lots of blurred pics. Hope I get better with it. Haven't had this trouble with other digital cameras.

       Great Camera - Jul 15, 2010

This camera is so easy to use. It has many options to use for the perfect picture.
