Ultimate Gaming Machine! - Sep 03, 2010
I love it, what can I tell you? This is a great deal for an Xbox 360! It beats the PS3 Slim which I purchased with this 360.
XBox 360 better than ever. Great for the Older Folks As Well! - Aug 31, 2010
We just bought this because we're going to get the kenetics package when it's released. We have a playstation 3 and wanted to try the Xbox 360. We love it much better. The new xbox is so quite and nice to look at. Touch controls work great and we need easy at 61 years old, lol. We watch netflix on it everyday. Nice job Microsoft. Can't wait for the Kenetics, we need to move more now that we're retired.
Whisper quiet ~ Really ~ quiet ~ - Aug 31, 2010

Perfect System - Aug 31, 2010
I've had quite a few different xbox's and this one is by far the best one. I'm extremely impressed with the overall design, the silent fans, and the touch buttons. A must have if you're considered purchasing a 360.
The Best Got Better. - Aug 30, 2010
I'm not new to the XBox 360. This is our third unit, we have 1 in the living room and 1 in each bedroom. We bought this because we intend to hook up the new Kinetics when it's released. A big plus is the built in WiFi. It is very quite as well, not to mention the touch controls. We are not big gamers basically we just play Halo, GT4 and Bioshock. What we use these for is netflix, and we connect external hard drives to them where we store all our tv shows, music, and movies on, This way we have our whole video and music library to just scroll through. Our first xbox was bought 4 years ago and it still runs fine , we have never had the red ring on either of our units. Other than the blue ray drive this is a much better unit the Playstation 3. We can't wait for the Kinetics to be released as we are both in our 50's and could use some exercise, lol.
New Box - Aug 29, 2010
I love my new XBOX! Plenty of memory (250GB). I used the data cord to transfer all of the files from my old hard drive to the new BOX (internal hard drive). The touch functions on the console itself are just like the PS3 as you don't actually have to depress the power or eject buttons on the console. Kinda sucks when you go to move it with it plugged in because they are super sensitive. Do wish that I would have waited for the Reach console though just for the Halo sound effects.
Love it!! - Aug 29, 2010
This is my first console this generation, and after a lot of research I got the 360. I am glad I waited for this new version, as it is sexy to look at. I actually had guests comment on how cool it looked. As for the games this console seems to have a lot of titles that arent available on other consoles, especially shooters and RPGs, my favorite genres. This thing is also QUIET, even playing a game I can't hear it.
SO QUIET!!! - Aug 29, 2010
I have a Final Fantasy Xbox and got this one for downstairs. Not only is it sexy to look at, it is extremely quiet. I had a game in playing and had to check to make sure the drive was spinning. It puts out a lot less heat as well. It's awesome!!!
Excellent - Aug 28, 2010
smaller than it seems, Very quiet when i play, fast shipping, . worth the buy
Red dot of death - Aug 28, 2010
Bought this new xbox 250GB and got the red dot of death the first day. Turned off the console and it fixed the problem. Then 2 days later got the red dot of death again. Returning the console.
Much, much better than the previous version! - Aug 25, 2010
having owned the 60GB version of this product (or was it 80), I was completely unimpressed. This is so much of a vast improvement over that, I'm surprised it's even related to the same product. This takes the 360 from behind the PS3 to the lead in the consoles, at least to me.
Benefits:
Kinnect ready - Nobody knows what games will be ready for this yet, but it's there
Wireless N networking - FINALLY they got this right in a console
250GB drive - It won't be easy to fill this one up ;)
Exclusive games - Both consoles have this on their side, but for me, the 360 wins this one. Halo, Too Human, Fable, these games make the console for me
NO NOISE - If you had the 360 prior to this, I'm sorry. I KNOW how loud that thing was, and this seems to have gotten rid of that. There's still occasional noise on Hard Drive access, but that's to be expected, nothing is going to be 'whisper quiet'.
Beautiful design - Yeah, you may call it a fingerprint magnet, but this thing is not only touch sensitive, but absolutely beautiful
No more RROD (now it's RDOT :P) - Supposedly this thing shuts itself down if it detects this happening, though luckily I've never seen it.
Bad things:
Sorry, I can't think of any, aside from the fact that this thing doesn't clean my living room after gaming parties!!
Having had my PS3 and 360 stolen (with games, of course), in January, I was really wondering which I was going to replace first. Once I read about this thing being released, it was a no brainer. The PS3 may eventually be replaced, but the 360 got there first!! I'm INCREDIBLY happy with this product. Maybe I should have waited a bit longer for 2nd rev devices, but I think I'll be just fine ;)
Amazing console, what Xbox should've been from the get-go - Aug 23, 2010
THIS is the console Microsoft should be proud of. Smaller, smoother, extremely quieter (my PS3 slim is louder, barely), more energy efficient and much more over the original phat Xbox 360.
Almost impossible to overheat, because it uses a 45nm combined cpu/gpu chipset (Valhalla chipset) which is even better then the 65nm Jasper chipset in the latest phat models, which were already widely known to be very reliable. Also has a self-defense mechanism so that it'll shut down if not properly ventilated, just like the PS3 and Mac.
I do prefer the 4gb Arcade model since it's matte black instead of the polish on this 250gb Xbox 360, but in all honesty I couldn't be happier with my purchase. Looking forward to playing Halo: Reach with everybody!
Red Dot of Death - Aug 23, 2010
Well, after a month of using it, the red dot of death, it dies while I was playing mass effect. The good thing is that Microsoft replace my machine with a new one, and it was quick everything only took 6 days exactly since the day they shipped a box to me until the day I received the new one.
Microsoft hasn't fixed the problem with its consoles. It is a shame for them; I can't believe this still happening even to the slim console.
I am giving 5 stars because I still love the 360.
Xbox 360 console - Aug 23, 2010
I bought this item for my 10 year old grandsone's birthday. I received it immediately and in perfect condition. I will buy again from Amazon for sure!!!
Amazing - Aug 22, 2010
This is definitely the way to go if you are going to go with an xbox 360 this is the way to go
Good upgrade!!! - Aug 21, 2010
I just upgraded from a pre-jasper 20gb Xbox 360 and gotta say that I'm pretty happy with my system so far. I disliked that I had to use component cables on my old system so I love that I can hook it up via HDMI! Gotta love all that extra space and way more quiet than my previous model. So far I have no regrets on ungrading.
I Want to Like It - Aug 21, 2010
I am talking from personal experience. If you buy this system, your experience may be different. First off, the disk drive in my 360 slim is ridicously loud. It is louder than my previous xbox 360 and gets very distractive while playing games. I know i can install the game on my drive but i expected the "silent" drive that microsoft so greatly raved about. Secondly, the wifi isnt great. I barely get connection and when i do, i get like one bar. Sucks when your getting kick out of lobbys and games in mw2 because of connection issues or can't watch netflix movies in hd or high quality. My previous xbox 360 (with microsoft wireless n networking adapter) was far superior. Lastly, my xbox sometimes freezes which sucks. I've contacted xbox support and am in the process of getting it repaired. Hopefully my xbox is a defect because the product looks like
It could be bad ass.
R.I.P. X-BOX 360 of 2006 - Aug 21, 2010
Well, the day finally came when I had to scrap my old x-box 360 as the circuit board and memory became corrupted beyond repair. It did me well for 4 years but this new 360 will have to carry on that tradition.
For the people that want to buy this system, you really dont have to. Aside from a few things, it is basically the same as prior versions. If you have an older version, just do what I did; buy it when there's no hope of fixing your current version.
For the people that just getting into the 360 and buying one, buy this slim version. It really is a great value. Believe me on that one, cause I brought the 60mb version for nearly 400 dollars. 250 gb for $299 vs 60mb for $400? You really can't go wrong.
New console still needs more. - Aug 20, 2010
The new 2010 360 is ok but it will not let you use the older memory units (No big deal).
It does let you use USB memory sticks - Great addition to save your character builds on.
It does finally have wireless built in for internet connections.
The downsides are you will still need PS3 to watch blu-ray 1080P movies like Star Wars, etc. on your 55 inch or bigger LED/LCD.
You will still need PS3 blu-ray drive for Blu-Ray Discs for 1080P - 3D movies that are coming out now.
The other downside is that most newer audio amps coming out now support 7.1 surround sound - so perhaps the next update should fix this??
360 also needs to increase its memory for graphics for future games so they could run/load faster between screens and with better depth detail.
It is not as noisy as older 360's but give it some room because it does get pretty hot.
(It also still has the big block external ac supply which takes room up).
All in all it still beats the previous models but still needs to better compete against the PS3 in what a PS3 can do.
Very Good Console - Aug 20, 2010
This console is awesome. This is the first XBox 360 I have owned, and I love it.
The only issue I had is that my controller does not always go back to neutral position after I push it left. But I think that is just a random mistake that happened with my controller. I will just have to get a new one.
